Code of Criminal Procedure

Background

As part of its continuing statutory revision program under Section 323.007, Government Code, the council is carrying out a nonsubstantive revision of various portions of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The council began the revision project at the recommendation of the House Select Committee on Criminal Procedure Reform, 83rd Legislature, and is performing the revisions on an ongoing basis, with portions of the code addressed each session.

88th Legislature Proposed Chapters

The council has prepared nonsubstantive revisions of the following provisions for proposal to the 88th Legislature:
